All of my education in pain, stress, trauma, and mobility has a common denominator - the nervous system. With this in mind, I provide a combination of methods that has evolved over the last 20 years for chronic active and passive tension, mobility, and stress. Sessions will include breathwork, and a more global approach than local, focusing on the fascial nets shown below that are engaged in everyday movement. For instance, a lower body issue, such as a hysterectomy scar, can create pain in the shoulder. It’s all connected.
Styles of manual therapy used (see About bio) are pain-free neuromyofascial methods focused on reducing stiffness and pain while improving mobility through multiple angles of movement, breath, traction, and tuning into your body. This increases muscle, fascia, and joint capsule mobility.
Lifestretch is a mobility-stretch session designed around fascial nets, rather than individual muscles. It gives you a home practice that assists in reducing stress, which helps you feel not only more functionally mobile but also more capable to deal with the physical and mental demands of your lives.
Meditation for your body
Many of us have developed the coping habit of continually bracing against the stressors in our lives. It’s human nature. Bracing against stress on a regular basis can easily develop into chronic tension. This chronic tension drains our energy, leaving us tired, defensive, and unmotivated. Being stressed-out negatively affects our relationships, our jobs, and the enjoyment of our lives. However, it’s easier than you might think to shed this tension and return to an energized, peaceful, and inspired way of being.
TRE® is a simple, safe and effective practice of deep tension relief that you can use to shed accumulated stress. Using your body’s own built-in system for calming the nervous system and naturally releasing muscular patterns of stress and tension through a reflex mechanism of vibration.
